ITCER Site — Neobiota monitoring

The occurrence of harmful neobiota on the site derived from the surrounding agricultural croplands is surveyed during the ongoing general macrobiome monitoring activities. This page serves as a source of information for local agronomic institutions.

Within the site, such neobionts are controlled by a variety of predators among the so far recorded >450 zoological macroorganisms. Reproduction of neobiota species is thought to occur primarily in the surrounding agricultural areas where they may cause damage to crops or natural ecosystems, as potential ‘pests’.
