Roadmap
The ITCER facilities are developing with time. While the plot of land was purchased in 2016 and construction of the first building (hosting lab and seminar room) started in June 2018 (both financed via private financial means), the final finishes to the building were achieved at the end of 2022. This has made it possible to begin developing and arranging seminars, project-related activities, and research support in cooperation with individuals, groups, and the responsible governmental bodies.
For 2026, a number of workshops and project meetings are scheduled at the site. Biodiversity photo monitoring and inventory work are ongoing, supported by a large and growing image base as well as environmental sampling for molecular species barcoding. Continued maintenance and infrastructure development have further strengthened the site’s technical and digital capacity. Alongside these field-based activities, software tools and digital interfaces are being developed to support documentation, data management, and public access to results.
In May 2025, ITCER was officially endorsed as a data publisher by the Participant Node Managers Committee of GBIF (Global Biodiversity Information Facility), further strengthening its role in contributing biodiversity data at an international level. Further work on ITCER’s representation in GBIF is continuing.
In order to support seminars, project-related activities, and research support, donations are sought for further equipping the laboratory and IT infrastructure (see Donation).
