The macroorganismal family-level co-occurrence networks of the ITCER monitoring sites are continuously computed using the information from the ITCER Macrobiome Image Gallery. Current versions must be regarded as preliminary due to insufficient sample representativeness and to serve as a proof of concept. The node icons are precursory and under construction. Species pair abundances, reflected by edge thickness, are based on co-occurrence records of taxa, not of individuals.

Method: Degree Centrality
Nodes of Plant Families
Context: Degree centrality shows how many connections each node has relative to the total number of nodes.
Method: Degree Centrality
Nodes of Animal Families
Context: Degree centrality shows how many connections each node has relative to the total number of nodes.
Method: Eccentricity
Largest Component
Context: Eccentricity measures the maximum distance from a node to any other node in the largest connected part of the network.
Method: Eccentricity Box Plot
Largest Component
Context: A box plot showing the distribution of eccentricity values, including median, quartiles, and outliers.
Method: Degree Distribution
Context: This histogram shows the frequency of nodes having specific numbers of connections (degrees) in the network.
